Evelyn Castro serves as the state’s first Student Loan Ombudsman with the State Treasurer’s Office where she assists students and parents with financial aid guidance and advocates for student loan borrowers by investigating, resolving, and addressing complaints related to federal and/or private student loans. Prior to joining the State Treasurer’s Office, Evelyn worked as a Community Resource Manager for a national non-profit organization and also has experience working as a paralegal for a local law firm where she assisted homeowners with mortgage loan modifications. Evelyn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and her Master’s in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management.
