Lisa Calvert considers herself a lifelong learner and truly believes that she has the best job in the world! She currently serves as a Read by Grade 3 Literacy Strategist for two small rural elementary schools about 40 miles south of the Las Vegas, Nevada. She has studied the Science of Reading by participating in LETRS training, PRESS coursework, and a Literacy Lifeline Cohort through the Nevada Department of Education. One of her favorite activities is presenting professional development focusing on various strands from Scarborough’s Reading Rope. She earned her National Board Certification in Literacy in 2021. She was selected as one of twelve Literacy Fellows for the Savvas 2023 Literacy Fellowship. She has a Master of Education Degree in Teaching and Learning with Technology from Western Governors’ University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
